Project Uplift has awarded scholarships to six students for the fall 2026 academic term, continuing the nonprofit organization’s commitment to helping students persist through college and prepare for what comes next.
The fall awards follow scholarships distributed to two students during the spring semester, bringing Project Uplift’s scholarship reach to eight students in 2026.
The newest scholarship recipients are students attending Lane College. The fall awards continue Project Uplift’s investment in helping students persist through college and prepare for what comes next.
“Financial support can make a meaningful difference at the moments when students are managing tuition, books, transportation, living expenses, and all of the other demands that come with staying in college,” said Rob Evans, Executive Director of Project Uplift. “Our goal is to provide support that helps students keep moving forward.”
The scholarships are one component of Project Uplift’s broader student-support model, which focuses on three interconnected areas: Scholarships, Mentorship, and Career Readiness.
Project Uplift believes financial assistance is most effective when students also have access to relationships, guidance, professional development, and opportunities to build the skills and social capital necessary to navigate college and the transition into careers.
“A scholarship matters, but the check cannot be the end of the relationship,” Evans said. “We want students to have people in their corner, opportunities to strengthen their professional skills, and access to relationships that can help open doors. That is the larger work.”
Earlier this year, Project Uplift delivered two spring scholarships as students approached final examinations and graduation. Those awards were designed to provide timely assistance with immediate educational expenses. The six fall awards extend that investment into the new academic year.
Project Uplift will continue working throughout the year to strengthen its scholarship program while connecting students with mentorship and career-readiness opportunities.
“Our objective is not simply to help students enroll,” Evans said. “We want to help them persist, build meaningful relationships, prepare for careers, and expand what is possible after college.”
